New Membership at Belair Bath & Tennis

Thank you for your interest in Belair Bath & Tennis (BBT)! We are looking forward to another great summer of swimming, tennis and social activities and hope your family will be there to join us.

All BBT memberships are family memberships, so they cover everyone who lives in the same household (on a permanent basis). We have three options for new members who wish to join the club:

An Annual “Trial” Membership: The trial membership is good for one season – it’s truly a trial! Then we ask all families to become full voting, owner members of the club if they want to continue with BBT. We find it keeps our members more invested in our pool and it truly makes us a family club.

Annual members are invited to our many events throughout the season, including movie nights, our annual crab feast, holiday picnics and more. Of course, we also offer tennis, pickleball, volleyball, etc.

While annual members do not receive ownership or voting rights, they are permitted access to the free swimming and tennis lessons as space allows (with preference given to full members first). Generally, this means that annual members are invited to attend the make-up day for free lesson sign-ups.

If you choose to convert to a full membership the following season, you will receive a $100 credit toward your full membership. Please note: a trial membership cannot be extended or renewed for an additional summer.

Regular Family Membership: To become a full, voting member of BBT, you will make an initial investment into the club in the form of a Membership Rights Fee. In addition to this purchase, you will also pay an annual dues assessment. Once you join, you become an owner-member of a piece of Maryland history – our club is on the historic grounds of Belair Mansion.

Your membership covers all members of your immediate household and gives you access to free swimming and tennis lessons, youth swimming and tennis teams, social events, and more.

As a community pool and club, we are only as strong as our members and volunteers who help promote a positive family experience for all. All members are encouraged to volunteer for events, serve on a committee, or even join the board. For every hour a member volunteers, they are entered into a drawing to win a free dues for the following season.

Membership Transfer: You have the option to purchase membership rights from an existing pool member who is looking to sell. This is a private transaction so the price for the membership rights is agreed upon by the buyer and seller.

In order to complete the membership transfer, a transfer fee of $15 must be paid directly to BBT by either the buyer or seller and a completed transfer form must be signed and witnessed by either a BBT board member or a notary public. In addition to the transfer fee, BBT will invoice the buyer/new member for the annual dues assessment for that first summer.

Returning Members

BBT offers several membership options so you can get the most out of your summer experience. If you are planning on participating in another great summer at BBT, please ensure your account is up-to-date on our website. Family membership: Includes everyone in your immediate household. All other guests must pay a guest fee to enter the pool.

Babysitter/Caregiver Add-on: This “add-on” allows you to include another caregiver on your account for the season, and can be renewed annually, as needed. Grandparents can add grandchildren to their accounts, while parents can add babysitters or other caregivers to their accounts. Please note there is an additional fee for this add-on.

Inactive Membership: If you do not plan on using the pool for the summer, you may switch to inactive status to ensure your account stays in good standing. You must have a compelling reason to request inactive status and, if granted by the board, will not be eligible to use the club in any capacity for the season.
