Member Service Hours

As member-owners of BBT, we each contribute to the upkeep and success of the club. And the jobs to be done are as varied as all of us!

To support the maintenance and operation of BBT, each “regular” membership account is responsible for 4 service hours per season on approved club activities and projects. Or members can pay $25 per hour to skip their service obligation.

Service hours can be fulfilled by those ages 18 and older. It is the responsibility of members to ensure their hours are tracked; a record of service hours must be submitted to the Board for verification.

Exceptions: Annual “trial” members are exempt from this requirement, though they are invited to volunteer at BBT. Any “regular” memberships that have family units consisting only of individuals ages 70 and older are also exempt from this requirement.

This is new for the 2025 season and we expect there will be questions. Please refer to our FAQ – we’ll be updating it frequently. If the answer is not there, please email your question to the board.

Approved activities and sign-ups are available below and will be updated throughout the season.

Service Opportunities

There are many ways to serve at BBT. Choose the one that best suits you. More details available in the listings.

  • Join a committee – Helping to plan events counts as service. The board member who chairs the committee will submit your time. Click on the links to email the board chair for more information.
    • Membership – Help recruit and/or welcome new members. Serve as a greeter at an open house, give tours of the club, be a “buddy” for a new member family, etc. There are many options available.
    • Social – Help plan, set up and work at different events throughout the season.
    • Pool and Grounds – Are you handy? Do you like fixing things? We can use your help.
  • Events – Our events take many hands to pull off. Sign-ups for each are available on the calendar page for each event.
  • Pre-Season Work Days – We are hosting two pre-season work days to get the club in tip-top shape.
  • Front Desk Attendant – At the very beginning of the season, BBT is short-staffed since most of our guards are still in school. To keep the pool safe and compliant with our insurance, we need help manning the front gate. We’ll provide the training, if you provide the time and a warm welcome!
  • Weekly jobs – There are many tasks that need to be handled throughout the season. This sign-up sheet will let you explore and sign-up to help with one of the many options. Get your scrolling finger ready…it’s a long list!
  • Solicit Sponsors – Are you great on the phone? Never met a stranger? Happy to send emails and letters off to perfect strangers? Or are you well-connected? We can use your help! We need members who are willing to share our sponsorship packages with local businesses to help get sponsors for BBT. If you’re interested in this job, please email BBTpooltreas@gmail.com or BBTmembershipchair@gmail.com for more information.
  • Photography – We need new photos for BBT’s website and social media channels, including stills and drone footage. If you are great with a camera, please reach out to BBTmembershipchair@gmail.com to discuss a shot list.
  • Graphic Design – Are you an experienced designer? Or maybe just great at Canva? We need help with promotional fliers throughout the season, especially for all of our picnics. Please email BBTsocialchair@gmail.com for more information.
